Get behind it!

Breathe. Yeah it's October! Breathe!

You must bring the work through the door when you come in. You musn't warm up as you act. You have to prepare. You have to commit to what you are going to do. You have to commit to going on the ride, even if you fail to fully get there.

I will say this over and over again as a teacher: being half in and half out is a very unsatisfying place to be as an actor/actress.

I think it was apparent who was behind their work on Tuesday and who wasn't. It is a good distinction to make in class so you don't do that when you are going out to audition.

Janina, you were so there. When an actor is connected and taking care of themselves the time seems to fly. I felt like I could have seen that take on the screen. Full, connected, earned. I am so happy to be working together again.

Joey, you are always so prepared. Your work is complete and your follow through is thorough.

Hilary, you really moved me when you opened up into how much you loved your mother. I am so impressed with your work these days.

Chris, the direction you took about being affluent added such a great quality to what you always bring to your work. It is nice to see it more fully realized in the room. It is clearer and easier to see and feel where you are coming from. Nice work.

Christina, you may be green but you planted you feet and went for it. Very nice. Brave.

Aleah, you could feel confident going in and reading for that role today. I look forward to where things will go from here.

There were many other things that were great. Please pay attention to whether you are demanding your full commitment when you work. Do not hold off til another day what you are capable of finding out now.

Callbacks will be great. Good beginnings.

  1. I know exactly what you are talking about Jen. I really felt the 1/2 in and 1/2 out today. Something I will be working on in the next week.
