What is this scene about for me? What resonates with me? Do I empathize with this character?
What motivates me? What compels me to action? What is my objective? What do I hope to achieve?
What stands in my way?
These questions are the starting point of my creative exploration into the world of the character I am playing.
Preparation will ground me in the scene and allow me to react truthfully moment to moment.
Be specific. Be clear. Be open. Live in the moment.
Paolo.
It's funny, but with all the things we, as actors, have on our mind in preparing a scene it's easy to let some of these important key elements slip away from us!
