Dropping in...

INSTINCT!

Hey everyone, really nice work last night. A nuts and bolts kind of focus for you all. I really appreciated what everyone brought to the work and the laser focus of the evening in general.

Robert, you are discovering who you are as an actor. The full range you own as a man is a beautiful thing to see you open up to in your work. I look forward to the upcoming months for you!

Katie...what can I say. I want you to watch the second scene. There is something magical that happens in this work when we truly give over to the moment, ourselves and our talent. We stop looking like an actor in class and we begin to look like frames of film. The background changes, the place comes to life. It looks like a painting or a piece of art. It is difficult to articulate the transformation, but I have seen it many times in my life as a teacher and it is the real deal. I think it is funny that it is others that are aware of the shift and less you. Trust right now. Really great!

Fitz, you just put a lot of extraneous actor stuff to rest and really came alive in the scene. Your work was clear and open. It was nuanced. It amazed me how much changed from last week. It was like you sifted through sand and found the gems.

Anna, I want you to take a look at how focusing your energy on the shot and body language allows you to open up to the work (and the camera) in a completely different way. When you have the type of volatility you do...it is important to stay grounded and connected while we use and release or emotional life.

Caitlin, you really open up. Initially you felt self conscious about the exercise but when you let go the bride was there and you were funny.

The best part for you all will be to study the different takes.

Very productive class everyone!
